COMPANY PRODUCTS

VISION
To be respected and innovative solutions provider focusing on process safety, reliability, and control.
  • Trust: Continued success depends on our integrity and honoring our word in delivering products and services according to ethical standards with open and honest communications.

  • Discipline: We say what we do and do what we say in delivering products and services complying to regulatory and globally recognized good engineering practices (no short-cuts)

  • Creativity: Consistency is a virtue in the design and delivery of reliable systems, but there is always opportunity for improvement. We must actively seek and identify ways to provide more effective solutions.

MISSION
In order to attain our vision, we must provide our clients with products and services necessary to achieve safe operation and a competitive advantage in their market sector.

We will accomplish that by:
  • Providing in-depth analysis that consistently yields safe and reliable installations covered by traceable documentation

  • Enhancing operability and maintainability through the development of innovative hardware and software tools

  • Following proven-in-use design, operation, and maintenance practices that ensure safe operation at the lowest lifecycle cost

  • Fostering a safety culture that emphasizes quality assurance and reliability through effective mechanical integrity planning, execution and reporting

  • Optimizing reliability of chemical processes through better documentation and management of the control, alarm and instrumented protective systems

Automated Independent Backup (AIB)
- A low-cost, standalone SIS that backs up current process control trip logic and meets the requirements of IEC 61511. The system includes an IEC 61508 logic solver that is functionally independent from the process control system, supplements existing logic, and meets all appropriate safety standards. Read more

Low-Cost, High-Availability Overfill Protection System - When designed, installed, operated, tested, and maintained in accordance with IEC 61511 standards, the Diamond-SIS provides >99.9% availability. It has been certified by Factory Mutual (FM) as fit for use in high integrity protection system applications up to and including Safety Integrity Level 3 ( SIL 3).

SIL-Solver Revision 5.53 released -
SIL Solver is an advisory software package intended for use in verifying the Safety Integrity Level ( SIL ) of SIF and other protective instrumented functions (PIF).  SIL Solver uses globally recognized calculation methods defined in appropriate standards and methodologies including:

ANSI / ISA 84.00.01-2004/IEC 61511
ISA TR84.00.02
CCPS Chemical Process Quantitative Risk Analysis (CPQRA)
CCPS Guidelines for Safe and Reliable Instrumented Protective Systems

Early review in from Mr. Art Dowell--"I do like the new features, especially 'what if?'.   Nice!"

Diamond-SIS™ suitable for HIPPS applications -
Diamond-SIS is a cost effective, stand-alone, logic solver that is easy to test, simple to maintain, yet it provides the high-availability required of HIPS applications. It has been certified by Factory Mutual (FM) as fit for use in HIPS applications up to and including Safety Integrity Level 3 (SIL 3).

Overfill Protective Systems - Complex Problem, Simple Solution

Loss of level control has been a contributing cause in three of the worst industrial incidents in process industry history, but protecting against it can be surprisingly simple.

Lessons Learned While Auditing Automation Systems for PSM Compliance

While building systems, errors can creep in. SIS-TECH has audited many systems, and here are some of our observations illustrating these problems.

Consistent Consequence Severity Estimation

Most risk analysis methods rely on a qualitative judgment of consequence severity, overstatement creates excessive risk reduction requirements, understatement results in inadequate risk reduction. This paper provides justification for developing semi-quantitative look-up tables to support a LOPA team's assessment of consequence severity.
